Tower crane installation at Roma Street

Work is progressing on the Roma Street project in Brisbane

WEEKEND work and traffic changes are to be required to deliver and assemble a 55-metre tall tower crane to be used for excavation and construction of the new services building at the Roma Street construction site in Brisbane.

Between 6.30am and 6.30pm on Saturday 27 February and Sunday 28 February, temporary partial lane closures are required on Roma Street eastbound between Countess Street and Garrick Street for the delivery and assembly of a tower crane.

Eastbound access on Roma Street will be maintained under the direction of traffic control.

Work will involve:

  • Delivering oversized components of the tower crane on trucks
  • Lifting the town crane components into place using large mobile cranes
  • Assembly of the tower crane within the site.

Pedestrian access to the current Roma Street rail and bus stations is to be maintained.
